Reactive Path Trainer (RPT)

Modular. Intelligent. Game-realistic.

The future of agility and decision-making in football training is no longer flat. A smarter way to train… coming next.

Why Football

World’s most popular sport with global relevance and appeal.
Ideal for creating a training tool that challenges both body and mind.
Combines physical agility with real-time cognitive decision-making.

Dribbling Under Pressure

A player dribbles the ball while navigating defensive pressure and anticipating the opponent’s moves.
Focus on quick footwork, balance, and real-time decision-making.

Human Body Interaction:

Dribbling on responsive surfaces

Quick directional changes

Cone dodging while maintaining ball control

Connection to Football Motions

Simulates 1v1 pressure and reactive footwork

Involves lower-body mechanics (calves, quads, hamstrings) and core control, just like in real dribbling scenarios

Mental Stimulation Features:

Players must react to unexpected light cues

Make split-second directional or tactical decisions (e.g., choose between a pass or a feint)

Brain Functions Engaged:

Selective Attention – track lights and defenders simultaneously

Decision-Making – choose correct reactions under pressure

Spatial Awareness – map movement patterns and positioning in real-time

Working Memory – remember triggered patterns while reacting

Players often struggle to make quick decisions when under real-game pressure, especially while dribbling.
There’s a gap in training tools that equally engage both body and mind to simulate this complexity.
Current drills are often either too repetitive or lack cognitive stimulation.

Product Concept

Reactive Path Trainer (RPT)

is a portable, modular training mat and cone system with embedded LED lights and motion sensors that trigger randomized movement patterns and decision cues. Players must dribble through paths as lights flash directions, requiring rapid physical response and situational decision-making.

For Whom:

All levels  customizable difficulty makes it suitable for beginners, amateur players, and professionals.

Physically Engaging:

Players must dribble a soccer ball along dynamically projected LED paths.
Quick feet coordination is needed to avoid cones and follow the zigzag path.

Mentally Engaging:

Players must make rapid decisions based on path direction changes.

Encourages visual tracking and situational awareness.

Function & Features:

Modular mat with embedded LED paths.
Cones provide physical obstacles.
Encourages agility and reactive movement.

MUSCULOSKELETAL ACTIVITY IN RPT

Agility Movements

Quick changes in direction (cutting, pivoting, zigzag runs) activate the leg and core muscles.

Engages quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, calves, and hip stabilizers.

Balance & Stability

Navigating unpredictable light paths requires micro-adjustments, activating ankle and core muscles to maintain posture.

Speed and Acceleration

Short bursts of sprinting or decelerating trigger dynamic muscle contractions and joint mobility in hips, knees, and ankles.

Coordination & Control

Simultaneous processing of visual cues and bodily response strengthens neuromuscular control, improving how the brain and muscles communicate.

Footwork and Dribbling

Precise foot placements when following light paths develop fine motor skills in the lower limbs and improve foot-eye coordination.

COGNITIVE STIMULATION IN RPT

Selective Attention

Players must focus on one LED path while ignoring others.
Filters out distractions and strengthens concentration.

Decision-Making Under Pressure

Players must choose which direction to move instantly based on changing light cues.
Trains rapid response and game-like judgment.

Visual Processing Speed

Quickly interpreting visual signals and converting them into action.
Develops fast visual-motor reaction time.

Motor Planning and Coordination

The brain prepares complex movements
before the body executes them.
Important for smooth transitions
between different directions or speeds.
